Post CO2 Laser Treatment, proper care and recovery are crucial for optimal results and minimizing complications. Here are some general recommendations:

  1. Skin Care Regimen: Use gentle, non-abrasive cleansers and moisturizers as directed by Dr. Champagne. Avoid products with harsh chemicals, fragrances, or exfoliants during the healing process.
  2. Sun Protection: Avoid direct sunlight exposure for several weeks post-treatment. When outside, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, and wear protective clothing, such as wide-brimmed hats.
  3. Hydration: Keep the skin well-hydrated by applying recommended ointments or creams to prevent dryness and peeling. Internal hydration is also essential, so drink plenty of water.
  4. Avoid Makeup: Refrain from using makeup until your doctor advises it’s safe, typically when the skin has healed significantly.
  5. Swelling and Redness Management: Some swelling and redness are normal. Use cold compresses and keep your head elevated to reduce swelling. Over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications may be recommended by Dr. Champagne.
  6. Avoid Strenuous Activities: Limit heavy exercise and activities that can lead to excessive sweating or heat exposure during the initial recovery period.
  7. Follow-up Appointments: Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments with Dr. Champagne to monitor healing and address any concerns.
  8. Patience with Results: Full results can take several weeks to months as the skin heals and rejuvenates. Patience is key during this period.

Keep in mind that recovery experiences can differ from person to person. It’s crucial to adhere to the specific guidelines given by Dr. Champagne. If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office.
