Megan Good Shares Her Eyebrow Transplant Journey with Dr. Jason Champagne
Actress Megan Good, known for films including Think Like a Man and Anchorman 2, shared her experience undergoing an eyebrow transplant performed by Dr. Jason Champagne.
Before the procedure, Megan explained that years of over-plucking during the thin eyebrow trend of the 1990s permanently damaged her natural brows.
“When I was about 15, I started plucking my eyebrows. By the time I was 19, they had stopped growing back.”
Like many women, she later turned to cosmetic alternatives, including eyebrow tattooing and microblading. While these initially improved the appearance of her brows, the results changed over time.
“I decided to tattoo them, which worked at first. But like any tattoo, the lines eventually blurred. I then tried microblading, but I still wasn’t happy with the results. I felt stuck.”
As she entered her 30s, Megan felt her sparse brows created a harsher appearance.
“It started to make me look older, and I wanted something that looked more natural.”
During her consultation, Megan and Dr. Champagne discussed creating a brow shape that complemented her facial features.
“My natural brows were very straight. I wanted a little more of an arch, and Dr. Champagne helped design a shape that made sense for my face. The results were exactly what I wanted.”
How an Eyebrow Transplant Works
Dr. Jason Champagne explained that an eyebrow transplant is performed as an outpatient procedure using local anesthesia.
Hair is carefully harvested from the back of the scalp, where the hair characteristics are most suitable. Under a microscope, each follicular unit is meticulously separated into individual hairs before being transplanted one by one into the eyebrow.
“Every graft is placed individually to create a shape that best balances the patient’s facial structure.”
Because scalp hair continues to behave like scalp hair after transplantation, patients will need to trim their new eyebrows periodically.
Living with Transplanted Eyebrows
For Megan, the maintenance has been minimal compared to the confidence the procedure has given her.
“I trim them every few days. If I want them fuller, I trim them less often. If I want them a little thinner, I trim them more frequently.”
She describes the procedure as life-changing.
“It’s been a complete game changer. I feel like it gave me ten years back to my face.”
As an actress, eyebrows play an important role in facial expression and on-camera appearance.
“When I was filming, my brows were always something that had to be worked around. Now they’re no longer an issue. It’s been one of the best things I’ve ever done.”
Are Eyebrow Transplants Permanent?
According to Dr. Champagne, yes.
The transplanted follicles are permanent and continue to grow naturally. While occasional trimming is required, patients can enjoy fuller, natural-looking eyebrows for years to come.
Because every hair is transplanted individually, eyebrow transplantation is one of the most meticulous procedures performed in hair restoration.
“The procedure typically takes between four and eight hours, although more complex cases can take even longer. It’s a detailed, time-intensive process, but for the right patient, it can produce a truly transformative result.”
